Developmental Affirmations
are messages effective in promoting and supporting growth for all the stages of development. These affirmations are for use by teachers, carers, mentors and others working with children in school and pre-school settings. They are taken from Improving Behaviour and Raising Self-Esteem by Giles Barrow, Emma Bradshaw and Trudi Newton (David Fulton 2001) and have been adapted with permission from those developed by Jean Illsley Clarke (published in Growing Up Again, Hazelden, 1998). All the main developmental stages plus three further stages - Becoming, Moving On and Staying Awhile. In total, nine stages providing 62 affirmations for work with adults and children.
The affirmations are printed on small, press-out ovals on glossy coloured card or magnetic strip (for messages on the fridge, filing cabinet etc.) and cost £3.50 per set for the card version and £5.50 for magnetic, plus postage,
